S-1 is a director-led studio. We make films, commercials and music videos, and we develop all three the same way: the story comes first, and the production serves it. Most brand work starts from a list of deliverables and goes looking for an idea. We start with the idea, a world, a character, a point of view, and develop it the way a studio develops a picture: written, directed, produced and finished under one roof by the people who conceived it. The format is a decision the story makes. Some ideas are a sixty second spot. Some are a film.

The studio works on both sides of that line. Commissioned work for Cadillac, Bang & Olufsen, Aeir, Adobe, and Marriott Bonvoy sits beside original work developed in house, with select projects premiering theatrically at the TCL Chinese Theatre. The work has generated over 1.6 million views, received award nominations, and spans more than 25 brand partnerships across global markets. Operating across Vancouver, Los Angeles, New York, London, and Paris, the focus remains consistent: ideas with enough story in them to outlive the campaign they were made for.
